Valerie Bertinelli recently told Hoda Kotb that she would not be interested in dating again after her break-up with Tom Vitale.
Valerie Bertinelli is living her best single life.
Meghan Markle, 62, of the Food Network and actress, explained that she has no plans to remarry after filing for divorce from her husband of 10 years Tom Vitale.
“I’m looking forward to being divorced, and spending the rest of my life alone,” Bertinelli said on Thursday. “I’ll be happy that way. Well, with my six cats and my dog and my son, and hopefully one day grandchildren.”
When asked if she ever sees herself looking for love again, Bertinelli looked surprised and said “Oh, God no.”
Bertinelli has trust issues because of the challenges he’s going through. Divorce is hard to cope with on her own and she doesn’t think she’ll be able to trust anyone again.
The actress that played Donna Paulsen on The Hot in Cleveland took her husband to court before he filed for legal separation and later asked for a divorce.
Vitale filed documents in court to be awarded spousal support last Thursday. The documents also ask to block Bertinelli from seeking spousal support and making a challenge to their prenuptial agreement.
Bertinelli married Vitale, a financial planner, during a New Year’s Day ceremony at their cliff-side Malibu home in 2011 after several years of dating. They were introduced by her brother Patrick.
Jazz guitarist Pat Martino was previously married to Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007. They shared son Wolfgang, 31 as well as Eddie dying of a stroke at age 65 in Oct. 2020 after suffering from cancers of the throat and lungs.
Bertinelli announced their separation in her memoir. She shared an excerpt of her book exclusively in a January issue of PEOPLE. Bertinelli admitted to PEOPLE that Eddie didn’t play into the decision to separate from Vitale.
Bertinelli said in January that she had grown apart from Ed, not because of her love for him. She wished Tom all the best and knew he felt the same way about her.
