According to authorities, Jonathan Majors was arrested for strangulation, assault, and harassment on Saturday in New York.
A 30-year-old woman and Majors, star of Creed III and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, were involved in a domestic dispute, according to police in New York City. Around 11 a.m., police responded to a 911 call inside a Chelsea apartment in Manhattan.
According to the NYPD, the victim told police she was assaulted. Officers arrested the 33-year-old male without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck. She was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
As of Saturday night, he was no longer in police custody, a spokesperson for the NYPD said. In an email to the Associated Press, Majors’ representative denied there was anything wrong with him. “He has done nothing wrong,” the representative wrote. “We look forward to clearing his name.”
It is no secret that Majors is a rising star in Hollywood. He was first seen in “The Last Black Man in San Francisco” in 2019. Since then, Majors has starred in “Da 5 Bloods,” “The Harder They Fall” and “Devotion,” as well as “Magazine Dreams,” which Searchlight Pictures plans to release in December.
