Bonnie Raitt never expected to win Song of the Year, least of all the singer herself

At the 65th Grammy Awards on Sunday, blues singer Bonnie Raitt wasn’t expecting Song of the Year, based on her expression. She won two Grammys for Best American Roots Song and Song of the Year for her song “Just Like That.” Under the nose of fellow nominees including Beyoncé, Adele, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, she won the latter award.

Raitt sat dazed for a few moments as first lady Jill Biden opened the envelope and read her name before heading up to collect her award.

73-year-old singer’s first words on stage were “Oh my God.”.

“I’m so shocked, I don’t know what to say,” she replied.

Before thanking the Recording Academy, Raitt called it an “unreal moment.”
