DC’s latest blockbuster movie, “Black Adam,” has just released its first trailer, and it’s got Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in it.

DC released the two-minute clip on Wednesday, which starred the Hollywood titan and wrestling legend as the antihero who has godlike abilities.

A new trailer for the DC Extended Universe film gives a glimpse of the 5,000-year-old warrior who can transform into a superhuman with super strength and the ability to fly as he battles in the present day world.

The temptation of Black Adam is illustrated in the video as Dr. Fate says in a voiceover: “You have two choices. You can be the destroyer of this world, or you can be its savior.”

This is the first time Black Adam has been a hero in the Marvel universe. The trailer gives fans an introduction to his backstory, revealing he was once a slave and has broken out of the tomb in which he has been imprisoned for 5,000 years.

Marvel introduced many characters in their new film “Black Adam.” Several new characters are also seen including Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman, Noah Centineo’s Atom Smasher and Quintessa Swindell’s Cyclone.

On Tuesday, Johnson took to Instagram and thanked fans for their support as he prepared for his first DC role: the villain of Shazam in the DC Extended Universe.

He shared behind-the-scenes photos of his film, writing: “Your unwavering support and relentless excitement for this passion project of mine has meant the world to me. Now it’s my turn to deliver for you. The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is changing.”

Johnson revealed the project in 2019. He said the role playing Black Adam is unlike any other he has played before.

“As a kid, I always wanted to be Superman. But then something happened. I realized that the Superman I always wanted to be was a hero of my own creation and not the one I actually became,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

He said that Black Adam is “blessed by magic with the powers equal to Superman, but the difference is he doesn’t toe the line or walk the standard. He is a rebellious and one of a kind superhero who will always do what’s right for the people – but he does it his way.”

Jaume Collet-Serra’s (Jungle Cruise) feature film “Black Adam” is in cinemas from October 21.
