It was a pleasure to see Karol G and Shakira collaborate on their music video “TQG,” which was released on February 23 to the delight of their millions of fans. In addition to Karol G’s signature fiery red hair, Shakira’s colorful eye makeup, particularly her blue version of the reverse cat-eye trend, caught our attention as well.
The video starts with Karol G singing on top of a building in a grey ensemble before she jumps. The music video then transitions to Shakira dressed in a blue chrome bodycon dress with a matching reverse cat eye and a high ponytail. For those unaware, a reverse cat eye involves a sharp winged liner that extends from the lower lash line instead of extending from the top. As Shakira sings and dances in her metallic dress, you can clearly see her blue-rimmed waterlines and the dramatic wing that almost reaches the tips of her eyebrows.
With her shiny blue dress, her experimental liner stood out even more because it was the only bright color in this makeup look. A matte nude-pink hue adorned her lips, allowing her eye makeup to take center stage. The high ponytail is sure to get praise from the official Ponytail Queen herself, Ariana Grande, and we love how long her tendrils are, framed by her collarbones.
