If you need a helping hand with today’s Wordle, Newsweek is here to make the game that little bit easier.
Wordle was developed by Josh Wardle during COVID-19 lockdowns for him and his girlfriend to enjoy. However, once he recognized its broader appeal, he launched the word-based puzzle online in October 2021.
Following its public debut, Wordle exploded from 90 users on November 1, 2021 to 300,000 on January 2, 2022 and The New York Times purchased it for an undisclosed seven-figure fee soon after.
The game is not only a hit among regular folk: even celebrities love playing and sharing their results with other A-listers.

Hollywood icons Carol Burnett and Allison Janney, costars of Apple TV+ series Palm Royale, compare their results almost every day, according to Burnett.
“Allison and I, we Wordle,” she told Entertainment Tonight in April 2023. “We just Wordle back and forth.”
Keegan-Michael Key, the Emmy award-winning star of Key & Peele, also loves the daily puzzle.
“There’s a fun sense of accomplishment that comes with starting the day solving a New York Times game,” he said in 2023.
A large part of Wordle‘s appeal is its simplicity. Players get six attempts to guess a five-letter word. Gray tiles behind each letter indicate that they are not in the word at all; yellow means the letter features but is in the wrong position; while green lets players know the letter is in the word and in the correct place.
The answer to Tuesday’s puzzle will be revealed at the end of this article, so scroll down with caution if you want to work it out for yourself.
