Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping days of the year. No matter how stuffed Americans are from their Thanksgiving feast the day before, there are sure to be shoppers lined up out the door of many stores to grab elusive deals.
However, before you get in your car and head out shopping, you should check with your local store for their hours, so you know when to catch the best savings.
Newsweek has compiled a list of when stores are open on Black Friday, so you know just where to go.
Who Is Open on Thanksgiving?
Most stores do close on Thanksgiving Day in order to give their employees time to spend the holiday with their loved ones.
Still, some retailers stay open because they know shoppers will need to make a last-minute run to the grocery store or even get ahead on some Christmas shopping.
The following stores have said they will be open during the holiday:

- Kroger
- Whole Foods
- Sprouts
- Walgreens
- Dollar Tree

What Is Kohl’s Black Friday Store Hours?
While Kohl’s will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, the clothing retailer will open for an action-packed Black Friday starting at 5 a.m.
“Kohl’s understands how busy the holiday season is for families, so we’re ready to help with everything they need to prepare and celebrate from decorating to gifting and hosting,” Nick Jones, Kohl’s chief merchandising officer, said in a statement. “Our expanded assortment across categories further positions Kohl’s as a destination for gifting at great prices.”
What Is Target’s Black Friday Store Hours?
The majority of Target stores will open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday, and shoppers will have plenty of deals in store.
With everything from Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour Book to other music, technology, clothing and toy products set to have major discounts, shoppers could benefit from arriving early.
While Target will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, the retailer is extending its holiday shopping hours of 7 a.m. to midnight from November 30 to December 23.
“Target is the place to be on Black Friday—and all season long—with incredible deals on thousands of items across every category and exclusive in-store items you’ll want to pick up for everyone on your gift list this year,” Mark Schindele, chief stores officer at Target, said in a statement.
He added: “With extended store hours, convenient same-day pickup and delivery options and around-the-clock online availability, you can choose when, where and how to shop, and our fantastic team will be there to deliver.”
What Is Walmart’s Black Friday Store Hours?
Whether you’re looking to take advantage of Walmart’s deals on tech, clothes, or toys, shoppers should know the retail giant is closed on Thanksgiving, but all stores open again at 6 a.m.
What Is Old Navy’s Black Friday Store Hours?
Old Navy will close its doors on Thanksgiving Day but come back fully swinging on Black Friday, opening at midnight and staying open until 11 p.m. on Friday.
Meanwhile, its online Black Friday sale starts at 12 a.m. Thursday.
What Is JCPenny’s Black Friday Store Hours?
JCPenney followed suit and decided to open up early on Black Friday, promptly inviting shoppers in at 5 a.m. The exact closing time on Black Friday could depend on the location, so you should ask your local store for more information.
JCPenney plans to entirely close up shop on Thanksgiving Day.
What Is TJ Maxx’s Black Friday Store Hours?
TJ Maxx will welcome shoppers in at 7 a.m. on Black Friday.
The store, which is already known for its affordable fashion brands, is likely to offer even better deals courtesy of Black Friday, and those who show up early will likely benefit the most from the cost savings.
What Is Home Depot’s Black Friday Store Hours?
Similar to many other stores, Home Depot will close for Thanksgiving to give employees a day to recharge and enjoy time with their families.
However, at 6 a.m. on Black Friday, Home Depot will open once again and close at regular hours.
What Is Hobby Lobby’s Black Friday Store Hours?
While Hobby Lobby closes on Thanksgiving, it will be back to regular store hours on Black Friday.
Those hours can vary by location but often are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. During this time, shoppers should be able to grab major deals on everything from home decor and crafting supplies to sewing and baking essentials.
What is Bass Pro Shops’ Black Friday Store Hours?
Bass Pro Shops will be open on Thanksgiving as well as Black Friday this year.
On Thanksgiving, shoppers can go to the store from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., while Black Friday hours will be updated to 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Check your local store to make sure the hours aren’t affected by the overall hours of the shopping center they’re in.
