Entering Week 16, the Raiders were projected to hold the No. 1 overall selection, which was considered to be used to select one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL draft.
But after Sunday, the chances of Las Vegas landing one are slim.
The Raiders moved down to No. 6 after defeating the Jaguars, improving their win total to three. The other quarterback-needy team, the Giants, now holds the first pick after losing to the Falcons.
If New York loses its final two games, they will be on the clock first.
Behind the Giants are the Patriots, who are projected to pick second. After that, the Jaguars, Titans and Browns, all teams that lost on Sunday, round out the top 5.
Of the teams ahead of Las Vegas, Tennessee and Cleveland could be in the market for one of the top signal-callers, likely whoever is still available of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward.
The Raiders could trade up if they feel Sanders or Ward are worth giving up capital for. But should they address the position differently, they have needs at cornerback, running back, edge defender and linebacker.
