Semi-truck catches fire on I-75 in Tampa after pulling over for a flat tire

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A semi-truck caught fire on I-75 on Saturday after pulling over due to a flat tire.

According to a press release from Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, the semi-truck, which was carrying eggs, caught fire near exit 246 in Riverview.

HCFR said the fire appeared to start in the cab of the truck before spreading to the trailer and cargo.

Responders were able to subdue the fire within 30 minutes, with exceptions of hot spots located in portions of the cargo.

Video showed heavy traffic on the southbound lanes of I-75, which were reduced to one lane while responders worked to get the fire under control.
