Be cautious, Cincinnati drivers!
The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a special weather statement for Greater Cincinnati on Thursday morning. Beware of lingering slick spots on untreated surfaces through the morning commute. Exercise caution if encountering patchy snow or ice-covered roads.
Cold conditions and blustery winds are expected early Thursday morning, with wind chill values between -5 and 5 degrees. Highs will top out in the lower 20s near and north of I-70 to the lower 30s near and south of the Ohio River.
The potential for more light snow will occur during the late afternoon and early evening. Light accumulation on untreated surfaces may create additional slick spots and travel difficulties during the evening commute.
A few patches of snow or flurries will linger past midnight, but drier conditions will return overnight. Temperatures will dip into the mid-teens to the mid-20s due to quite a bit of cloud cover.
A few flurries may linger early Friday morning, but dry conditions should prevail during the daytime. Highs will top out in the upper 20s to near 30 degrees near I-70. Highs will reach the lower 40s in Northern Kentucky.
