Girl Puts Baby Doll To Sleep, Mom Has Concerns About Her Parenting Style

A toddler from West Virginia is going viral for her questionable parenting style when putting her baby doll down for the night.

In a clip on TikTok, Brandi Mills hands her toddler, Laney, the little girl’s doll to put to bed. The interaction starts off innocently, with the 19-month-old taking the doll in her hands.

Mills, 39, told Newsweek that her daughter had received the doll as a Christmas gift “that she loves” and therefore thought she’d show a little more love to the new toy.

“I found the doll, and told her to put her baby to sleep, thinking I would get a usual sweet, nurturing moment,” she said.

However, instead of handling the baby doll with extra care, Laney promptly drops her into the crib and hurls the doll’s bottle against the wall where it ricochets into the crib.

“She apparently just wanted to quickly throw the baby to bed, and she bank shot the bottle off the wall. You can hear me say ‘oh’ multiple times in surprise and laughter,” Mills told Newsweek.

Mills captioned the clip, “I fear she may need some parenting classes”.

While Laney’s routine with her own bedtime is much more “gentle”, Mills explained that she found the clip so funny that she couldn’t resist adding the caption as a funny take on her daughter’s parenting skills.

“I almost didn’t post it but kids can be so innocently funny, and this was one of those moments. I can’t wait to show her this when she is older or as my friend suggested, showing this at her baby shower if she ever has children,” Mills said.

The clip has gone viral on Mills’ TikTok (@yogimamablooms) amassing 3.4 million views and almost 10,000 comments. Many other fellow parents shared similar stories where their toddler had mistreated their beloved dolls.

“At least she’s giving her a bottle, my daughter just lets her starve,” one user wrote. “She said gentle parenting is not her style,” joked another.

Mills has been “blown away” by the reaction online. “The comments have been overall hysterical. It has brought my family a lot of laughs reading them,” she added.

It appears parenting her doll may require a little extra finesse in the future for Laney.
