Fandango has revealed the top ten movies audiences are looking forward to seeing in 2025, and the list likely won’t surprise anyone who’s a franchise fan because there are sequels, prequels and spinoffs galore all over it.
Not a single original film made the cut.
Still, there is plenty for fans of Tom Cruise, Marvel, and Avatar to be excited about as movies like Captain America: Brave New World, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and Avatar: Fire and Ash landed a spot on the list.

Fans of Jon M. Chu’s WICKED: Part One, which hit theaters on November 22 and has grossed over $465.5 million in under three weeks, will be thrillified to hear that WICKED: Part Two made Fandango’s list at number seven.
WICKED: Part Two is scheduled to release on November 21, 2025, and Jon M. Chu says there’ll be new songs for fans to look forward to.
The follow-up to the Ben Affleck-led The Accountant also made the list, which may come as a surprise as it wasn’t exactly a hit among critics who stuck it with a “Rotten” score of 53% when the film was released in 2016.
Still, it made an appearance at number eight and has clearly piqued people’s interest.
