Cincinnatians may have been stuck indoors Monday due to a record snowstorm, but at least someone was on air to make them laugh.
Local 12 news anchor Bob Herzog has gone viral online for his hilarious coverage of the storm.
A compilation of Herzog’s coverage, captioned “an Anchorman’s slow descent into madness while covering morning snow,” has racked up more than 7 million views on Instagram in less than 24 hours.
The Instagram reel is filled with unserious comments juxtaposed with the cadence of a professional television reporter.
“I’m having trouble breathing right now. Because it’s both cold and I’m out of shape,” Herzog quips. “And I’ll throw in a third thing. Also, I’m old.”

Herzog has been with Local 12 since 2005 and co-anchors the station’s morning show “Good Morning Cincinnati,” his bio on the Local 12 website reads.
The native West Sider is no stranger to having fun on air. During a 2014 newscast, Herzog performed the song “Just Don’t Go,” a parody he wrote of “Let It Go” from “Frozen.”
The song “really speaks to what a traffic man has to deal with when you have weather conditions like we’ve had this winter,” he said at the time.
