Brooke Shields has revealed that a surgeon performed an unnecessary and invasive vaginal rejuvenation procedure without her knowledge or consent.
Per Us Weekly, in the book, Brooke also details the disturbing medical experience that she endured in her 40s — purportedly apologizing to readers for being “too graphic” or “TMI” in her descriptions.
And Brooke opened up some more in an accompanying interview with Us Weekly, where she explained that after suffering discomfort such as bleeding and chafing due to the length of her labia since high school, her gynecologist told her in her 40s that she could have a surgical reduction to resolve these issues.
Brooke added that the doctor had been “legitimately proud” to explain to her that he had thrown in “a little twofer,” and she’d understandably been left “dumbfounded” by his behavior.
Brooke’s memoir, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed To Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman, will be released on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
