Let’s face it, we all love to get lost in a reality show every now and then. They’re all-consuming, easy to watch and sometimes exactly what you need after a long day.
People have devoured Netflix classics like Selling Sunset, Love is Blind and Below Deck, but maybe you’ve run out of episodes and are ready for a new thing to binge.
Here are five titles on the streaming service you maybe haven’t got around to yet that’ll scratch the reality show itch. These might not be the most critically acclaimed shows on Netflix, and they might not even be the best, but for our tastes, they’re certainly some of the most entertaining.
Sexy Beasts
Sexy Beasts is as chaotic as it sounds. It’s the dating show that takes looks out of the equation by transforming people with prosthetics and sending them on dates. This show puts the looks or personality debate to the ultimate test by forcing people to form a connection without knowing what the other looks like.
Marriage or Mortgage
This one is crazy. Couples come to wedding planner Sarah Miller and real estate agent Nichole Holmes with a budget for one thing: a wedding or a house. That’s right. They can only have one. Sarah’s job is to convince the couple to use their money on a wedding while Nichole tempts them with their ideal homes to get them to buy a house. It’s simple, binge-able and provides an abundance of laughs and opportunities for you to yell at the screen.
Too Hot to Handle
Too Hot to Handle is designed to remove physical intimacy from the dating game. Ten singles are whisked off to the Caribbean to compete for prize money under the watchful eye of Lana, who will deduct money for every time they break the rules. It gets pretty dramatic and surprisingly emotional in places and has a ton of spin-off shows, so you’ll never run out of episodes.
The Circle
The Circle is perhaps the most unique modern reality show. Contestants are given an apartment, a screen and a few strangers they can only speak with via instant messaging. It puts their internet-savvy sleuthing skills to the ultimate test as they’re forced to uncover if everyone is really who they say they are.
Great British Baking Show
If you like your drama to be a little more wholesome, then The Great British Baking Show is the show for you. A group of amateur bakers compete with one another to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. It may seem sweet on the surface, but it can get pretty dramatic when things go awry.
