Alpha Prime Racing Confirms Huge Crew Chief Signing For NASCAR Xfinity Series

Alpha Prime Racing has appointed Joe Williams as crew chief for the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series. Williams will take on the responsibility of leading the No. 4 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Parker Retzlaff.

Joe Williams brings a wealth of experience to Alpha Prime Racing, having served in various esteemed roles throughout his NASCAR career. His journey to this new role began with a stint as a crew chief in the NASCAR Cup Series. Williams’s career highlights include managing the No. 28 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for RSS Racing, a role he adopted after a mid-season transition from AM Racing.

Williams’s tenure with AM Racing is equally impressive. During his time there, he launched a new organization and guided driver Brett Moffitt to achieve one top-five and nine top-10 finishes. His experience extends further back to an important victory at Auto Club Speedway with Cole Custer and SS-GreenLight Racing.

Williams will partner with driver Parker Retzlaff in 2025. The driver has already celebrated three top-five finishes, 12 top-10 finishes, and pole positions at venues like Richmond and Martinsville. Retzlaff commented on his contract with the team in 2025:

“We all want to win races, be consistent and prove we’re here to compete.

“Everyone here has told me how much they believe in me and what I can do.

“I’m humbled, honestly. Obviously, I wouldn’t be here without the support of my partners — who I’m really excited to announce later,” Retzlaff added.

“Tommy and Caesar have put together an awesome team. It’s a big confidence booster for me to go into 2025 with a group that really wants me here.”

Team owner Caesar Bacarella explained:

“I’m just super excited to have him join us. He’s a young, really talented race car driver, and he’s going to help elevate the team.

“There’s been a lot of ups and downs, but he [Tommy] and I agree it’s all about the people. It’s so hard. We’re racing against the best teams in the world. But we’ve got great people, and that’s what’s made it work. And now we’ve got two ace drivers in the stable full-time.”
