Ashley St. Clair Gives Update on Elon Musk’s Response to Alleged 13th Child

Conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair gave an update on Saturday about Elon Musk’s response to his alleged 13th child as she urged the tech billionaire to “publicly acknowledge his parental role.”

Newsweek has reached out to Musk via Tesla email and St. Clair’s representative via email for comment.

Why It Matters

Musk, CEO of X, formerly Twitter, Tesla and SpaceX, has become an ever-growing presence in U.S. and global politics. Musk, who has reached a net worth of $436.8 billion, has been appointed by President Donald Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency or (DOGE) and has been a staunch ally of Trump’s.

Musk is already known to have 12 children via three different women, his ex-wife Justine Wilson, singer Grimes and Shivon Zilis, an executive at his company Neuralink. His first child with Wilson, however, died just weeks after its birth in a sudden infant death syndrome-related incident.

What To Know

On Friday night, St. Clair announced that five months ago she had a baby with Musk stating in a post on X, the Musk-owned platform on which she has a million followers, that she was making the announcement to preempt the baby’s existence being revealed by “tabloid media” acting “regardless of the harm it will cause.”

While Musk has not responded directly to St. Clair’s allegation that he’s the father of her baby, St. Clair is urging him to “publicly acknowledge his parental role” and “finish their agreement” when it comes to co-parenting following a reaction Musk made on X.

In a now-deleted reply to Musk on X on Saturday, St. Clair wrote that she and her team “have been trying to communicate for the past several days and you have not responded.”

Musk’s X post, which simply stated “Whoa” was in response to an account that posted a screenshot of an alleged X post from 2020 that showed St. Clair joking about wanting to get “Elon Musk’s attention for a marriage proposal.”

Shortly after, Brian Glicklich, a representative for St. Clair, shared a statement on X on Saturday afternoon, stating that St. Clair and Musk had been “privately working towards the creation of an agreement about raising their child for some time.”

He added: “It is disappointing that a tabloid reporter, who repeatedly ambushed Ashley and her family, made it impossible to complete that process confidentially. We are waiting for Elon to publicly acknowledge his parental role with Ashley, to end unwarranted speculation, and Ashley trusts that Elon intends to finish their agreement quickly, in the best interests of the wellbeing and security of the child they share.”

It is unclear what tabloid reporter is being referenced.

Who Is Ashley St. Clair?

There is some confusion over St. Clair’s age, with British tabloid The Sun saying she is 26, while the New York Post reports she is 31.

St. Clair wrote for the satirical website the Babylon Bee, a conservative-leaning version of The Onion. The Babylon Bee had been banned from Twitter, now X, for awarding then- Health and Human Services assistant secretary Dr. Rachel Levine, a transgender woman, its “man of the year” award in 2022. The account was reinstated after Musk purchased the platform.

In July 2021, St. Clair published Elephants Are Not Birds, a children’s book described as an “unapologetic rebuke of transgender acceptance.” In the book, a vulture called Culture tries to persuade an elephant named Kevin that he is also a bird, on the basis that he can sing well. Speaking to the Daily Mail, St. Clair said in the end Kevin “realizes he’s better the way he was made and he can like to sing and still be an elephant.”

St. Clair has been featured on conservative beer brand Ultra Right’s “Real Women of America 2024 Calendar,” which was released in December 2023. The calendar featured a number of young women in seductive poses, some in bikinis. St. Clair was pictured in a bubble bath wearing a black bra and pearl necklace, in an apparent reference to a video released by transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney for Bud Light.

The calendar sparked a debate among conservatives, which was dubbed “Calendargate,” with some believing it was too debasing and others defending the project.

In 2023, St. Clair went viral on social media by making a series of X posts on a flight from Phoenix to New York City in which she said the other passengers were primarily “migrants who crossed the border and are being shipped to New York.”

Following St. Clair’s latest announcement, an X post she made in November 2023 resurfaced on the social media platform.

In it, she wrote: “Stopping birth control and Adderall was one of the best things I ever did for my mental health.”

Musk then responded: “For sure.”

What People Are Saying

Ashley St. Clair’s statement on Friday read: “Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father. I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause. I intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment. For that reason, I ask that the media honor our child’s privacy, and refrain from invasive reporting.”

Responding to St. Clair’s X post, conservative commentator Candice Owens wrote on X: “Children should always be off limits. Journalists are parasites. Hard to imagine going through this with a young one.”

What Happens Next?

While Musk has been active on X since St. Clair’s announcement, as of Sunday morning he has yet to comment on reports he has a new baby. It is unclear when or if he will respond to the reports.
